Are you thinking about using TikTok to market your company or organisation? You are not the only one who feels this way. Learn how to get the most out of this new social media platform.
TikTok’s influence should not be underestimated. Aside from being the go-to procrastination tool for many kids, TikTok has had a significant impact on current music and culture, and savvy firms worldwide are eager to get in on the fun (and money, of course) through TikTok marketing.
The video app may not suit every business, especially if your target audience and TikTok users are not the same. However, many firms have found success with TikTok marketing.
Many of TikTok’s most memorable brand moments are unintentional. But don’t be concerned. Even if you are not one of the lucky brands that fell into TikTok stardom by mistake, you may still have a successful TikTok presence. Continue reading to find out how to use TikTok for business and more.
What is TikTok marketing, and how does it work?
Using TikTok to advertise a brand, product, or service is known as TikTok marketing. Influencer marketing, TikTok advertising, and developing organic viral content are just a few examples.
Businesses may use TikTok marketing to:
- Increase brand exposure
- Build engaged communities
- Sell products and services
- Obtain input from consumers and audiences
- Provide customer support
- Market products and services to specific audiences
TikTok Growth for Your Business:
Making your TikTok posts is a fun way to express yourself.
This choice provides the most flexibility. Create a Business TikTok account for your company (scroll down for complete instructions) and begin creating your organic content.
Here, the sky is the limit—you can post anything from product demos to day-in-the-life films to dancing challenges. Take some time to look over your For You Page for ideas.
If you are looking for a place to start and have some money to invest, TikTok’s website is full of success stories from firms that began advertising on the platform. The cost of TikTok commercials is determined by a bidding procedure, similar to Facebook and Instagram.

How to Make TikTok for Business Work for You:
In the summer of 2020, TikTok launched a TikTok for Business hub, followed by TikTok Pro a few months later.
Initially, there was a differentiation between the two—one was for businesses, and the other was for growth-savvy creators—but TikTok eventually merged the two hubs because they delivered nearly identical insights.
TikTok for Business is now the sole option. You may expand your profile with a business account and access real-time data and audience insights.
To open a TikTok business account, follow these steps:
- Go to the profile page for yourself.
- In the top right corner, click the Settings and Privacy tab.
- Select Manage Account from the menu.
- Select Switch to Business Account from the Account Control menu.
- Select the category that best describes your account, ranging from Art & Crafts to Personal Blog to Fitness to Machinery & Equipment on TikTok.
- After that, you can complete your profile by adding a business website and email address, and you are good to go.
What is the best way to advertise on TikTok?
Making an official TikTok ad (paying TikTok directly for marketing) is a sure-fire strategy to increase the number of people who see your content. You are not willing to take the risk of a failed influencer partnership.
TikTok has a variety of ad types.
We have written earlier on the many types of TikTok commercials, but here is a fast rundown.
Adverts that you create yourself are known as in-feed ads. Image advertisements (which look like billboards), video ads (which look like TV commercials), and spark ads (which boost existing content, so it appears in more people’s feeds) are all examples of in-feed ads. There are also pangle and carousel ads, which can only be found in TikTok’s Audience Network and News Feed apps.
Ads for managed brands may resemble in-feed ads, but those that work with a TikTok sales representative (you can contact them to see if you are a good fit) have access to additional formatting.
Top view commercials (which play when you first open the app and can’t be avoided, like a YouTube ad), branded hashtag challenges (an interactive hashtag tied to your business), and branded effects are among the additional ad forms (like stickers and filters).
How to Create a TikTok Advertisement Account
If you want to run advertisements on TikTok, you need to set up a TikTok Ads Manager account.
To do so, go to ads.tiktok.com, click Create New, and fill out the form. (It’s only the essentials: nation, industry, company name, and contact information.)
Trends on TikTok might be unpredictable, and there is no such thing as a fool proof marketing approach. There are, however, reasonable activities you may do to help your company succeed on the app.
Creating a TikTok marketing strategy that adapts as you progress through your TikTok journey is a topic for another blog post.
